Garvan Institute
The Garvan Institute (http://www.garvan.org.au) is a leading medical research institute in Sydney focused on understanding the role of genetic, molecular and cellular processes in health and disease. Garvan’s research programs combine fundamental science with clinical interactions in cancer, diabetes, bone, immunological and neurological diseases. The Neuroscience Division addresses the complex nature and function of the brain and nervous system, spanning adult stem cells, neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric disorders, eating disorders, skeletal neurobiology, pain, and brain plasticity. Garvan was one of the first in the world to acquire the Illumina HiSeq XTen sequencing system, and is actively seeking to make new faculty appointments in neurogenomics, epigenomics and transcriptomics.
