Dr Belinda Henry is the Director of the Biomedicine Discovery Institute (BDI) Graduate School and a Senior Lecturer within the Department of Physiology at Monash University, Australia. She leads the Metabolic Neuroendocrinology Group within the Metabolism, Diabetes and Obesity Program at the Monash BDI. Her research centres on the discovery of novel means of altering energy expenditure through modulation of the brain as a mechanism for prevention or treatment of obesity. Her work is particularly focused on the process of thermogenesis and the impact of reproductive hormones and energy expenditure and metabolism. Dr Henry has strong expertise in utilising large animal models for neuroendocrine research and she has recently established the Translational Metabolic and Exercise laboratory.
