My main research interest is broadly in behavioural endocrinology and evolutionary ecology. During my MSc degree (Florence University) I investigated the hormonal control of territorial behaviour in free-living male European stonechats. I then moved to Glasgow University for my PhD. The project focused on analysing short- and long-term effects of exposure to elevated stress hormones during development, using the Japanese quail as study species. Currently I am working as a Research Assistant in Prof. Pat Monaghan’s lab (Glasgow University) in a project focused on investigating the ecological significance of telomere dynamics, using the zebra finch as study species.
