Paulo Flavio Silveira obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. After postdoctoral experiences at the University of Cadiz (UCA) and the University of The Basque Country (UPV/EHU), Spain, he joined the Institute Butantan, Brazil, as a tenured scientific researcher and a post graduation supervisor. His main research interests are focused at the interface between biomedicine, toxins, endocrinology and animal models for the development of novel approaches for diagnosis and for therapy. The strategies investigated include peptidases, peptides, and the design and evaluation of targeted mechanisms for the treatment of metabolic and degenerative diseases.
