Charles Bourque

, QC, Canada

  • This delegate is presenting an abstract at this event.
Charles Bourque obtained a BSc (Biology) at the University of Ottawa and a PhD at McGill University (Physiology), where he studied under Leo Renaud. Following Postdoctoral studies with David Brown at the University of London (UK), Bourque returned to Montreal, where he currently holds a James McGill Professorship in the Departments of Neurology-Neurosurgery and Medicine at McGill University. Bourque’s laboratory has shed light on cellular and molecular mechanisms that mediate the central control of osmoregulation. In particular, his laboratory has defined mechanisms by which neurons and glial cells monitor blood osmolality in hypothalamic networks that control fluid homeostasis.
